Telltale Games, the acclaimed video game developer, is back in business, and we couldn’t be happier! After going bankrupt in September 2018, Telltale fans were left heartbroken and bereft of any more epic adventures. Their closure marked the end of an era, with classics like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Batman: The Enemy Within left incomplete. However, there is some good news for all Telltale fans: the studio has been resurrected and is set to release some amazing games. In this blog post, we’ll be taking a look at Telltale’s triumphant return, its best games of all time, and what the future holds for them.

Telltale is finally back in business, and this time they’re unlikely to go anywhere! LCG Entertainment bought the rights to the company’s name and most of its intellectual properties in 2019. The new studio aims to revive the classics that Telltale fans have come to love. Moreover, they intend to create new franchises with fresh takes on the old classics. A perfect example is the highly anticipated The Wolf Among Us 2, which is scheduled to release sometime in 2021.

The Wolf Among Us wasn’t the only game that the studio was working on before they went bankrupt. Strangely enough, it was The Walking Dead that ended up being the last game that the studio released. The final season was incomplete, and it fell on Skybound Games to pick up the pieces. Skybound promised to finish the season as close as possible to the original idea. After a bit of delay, The Walking Dead: The Final Season was released in 2019, completing Clementine’s story and giving us a conclusion to the game that we so desperately needed.

Telltale Games are famous for their unique storytelling. Throughout various franchises, we’ve seen characters evolve, situations arise, and seen various story paths unfold. Games like Batman: The Enemy Within, where you have to make choices as Bruce Wayne as well as Batman, have brought a new dimension to an already fantastic franchise. The same is valid for The Wolf Among Us, where you play as Bigby Wolf, who’s torn between his duty as sheriff and his ancient animalistic instinct. You have to make choices that affect the game world and its outcome, which makes the experience all the more engaging.

Conclusion:

We are thrilled that Telltale has come back to life and can’t wait to see what’s up next in their games. As they get ready to launch The Expanse: A Telltale series on July 27th, we urge fans and newcomers alike to keep an eye out. At its height, Telltale redefined what a narrative game could be, and we’re delighted to see that the studio is back in business. We might not know what the future holds for the newly revived company, but after nine years of delivering quality storytelling games, including The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, we are confident that the future will be bright. Let’s raise a toast to Telltale and hope that they continue to deliver memorable stories for years to come. #TelltaleIsBack!
